SMART Goals

This type of goal helps to build your self-confidence, self-determination, and encourage the building of intrinsic motivation.

SMART Goals are:

Specific – goals should focus on one particular outcome or desired behavior.

Measurable – there is a definable end point, so you know without question that you met the expectation you set for yourself.

Achievable – don’t set the bar so high that you end up disappointed and frustrated – you should have the skills and ability to reach each goal, even if it’s a bit of a stretch.  Don’t undermine your self-confidence!

Relevant – each goal should represent a little piece of your wellness vision

Time bound – there must be  or you may never push yourself to accomplish what you set out to do. A little good stress (eustress) is a good thing!
